Mission Statement We are a Roman Catholic community, a people of many ages, rich in our diversity and rooted in the Highlands since 1886 who seek to continue in the tradition of St. Francis of Assisi. In the spirit of our patron saint, we are a welcoming parish, obedient to the teachings of Jesus Christ and responsive to the spiritual yearnings of all people. Our mission is to strengthen Catholic faith and clarify Catholic values through the sacraments, the Eucharist, prayer, and lifelong education and service; to cooperate with other people of faith in spreading the word of God; to reach out spiritually and materially to needy communities beyond the boundaries of our area. In carrying out our mission, we encourage active stewardship by providing opportunities for all to answer God's call, each according to his or her gifts. We seek to create activities that appeal to different age groups for the purpose of inspiring spiritual, intellectual, and social growth. Looking ahead, it is imperative that we strive at all times to keep communication open among our many different groups and thus truly become a community of small communities. It is also essential that we intensify our efforts to be constructive participants in the ecumenical thrusts of the Highlands. Finally, we should work diligently to advance the practice of charity, pursuit of justice and promotion of peace, and seek earnestly to make worship, service, and formation key principles in fulfilling our role as children of God.
