STRATEGIC PLAN 2004 - 2009

PASTOR'S LETTER

"Whenever two or more are gathered in my name, there I am in their midst." (Mt.people 18:20)

Jesus seems to be making the point that he wants his followers to be able to work together, fair enough! that makes sense in any organization, people should be able to work together. But Jesus seems to be saying even more than that! He seems to be saying that if his followers work together, he is actually with them in the process, they are not alone in the effort and he is with them every step of the way.

I have had that experience so many times in this parish over the last 11 years. I have seen how wonderful people have come together in prayer and service and something extraordinary seems to happen. What happens? Jesus happens!

I have seen it in putting together the mission statement and, more recently, in the current strategic plan. When the inspiration of the Spirit is sought, parishioners are consulted, and planning is wisely carried out, wonderful things can happen. Should we be surprised? Not at all, Jesus promised it!

With the publication of the new Strategic Plan for the parish, we see great opportunities for this to happen in the future. Thank you to all of you who do so much to make this parish a wonderful place and a place where Jesus continues to walk among us.
